Report Recommends Closure of Off-Shore Tax Havens for Corporate America

According to Tax Shell Game, a new report released today by the Arizona PIRG Education Fund, major U.S. corporations avoid as much as $100 billion a year in federal taxes by hiding profits in foreign countries.  This loophole results in over $1.3 billion in additional tax burdens for Arizona taxpayers.

Report Shows Building New Nuclear Plants Is A Bad Investment

According to The High Cost of Nuclear Power, a new report by the Arizona PIRG Education Fund, the nuclear industry has proposed thirty new reactors across the country at an estimated cost of $300 billion.  The report states that if the $300 billion was invested in energy efficiency over the next 20 years the same level of electricity would be used as today even with demand increasing by 20 percent.

Arizona Public Service (APS) Customers ask for Increased Energy Efficiency – Cleanest and Cheapest Energy Resource

Consumer complaints about problems with financial companies such as banks, credit bureaus and debt collectors rose by more than 50 percent in 2020 and set new records for each month of the year, according to a new report from the Arizona PIRG Education Fund. The report, Consumers In Peril, which analyzed complaints received by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), was released as part of National Consumer Protection Week.
