Report Shows Building New Nuclear Plants Is A Bad Investment

According to The High Cost of Nuclear Power, a new report by the Arizona PIRG Education Fund, the nuclear industry has proposed thirty new reactors across the country at an estimated cost of $300 billion.  The report states that if the $300 billion was invested in energy efficiency over the next 20 years the same level of electricity would be used as today even with demand increasing by 20 percent.

Arizona Public Service (APS) Customers ask for Increased Energy Efficiency – Cleanest and Cheapest Energy Resource

Today, the Arizona Corporation Commission heard public comments from Arizona Public Service (APS) customers at public meeting on a proposed rate increase for APS.  Most customers indicated strong support for increasing energy efficiency measures, even if meant an increase in electric rates.
